Natchez Pilgrimage Tours — an arm of the Pilgrimage Garden Club — is the only full-service receptive tour operator in Natchez. We customize your trip, free of mark-ups or fees for our direction and expertise. Let us guide you to the perfect Natchez experience! Founded in 1716, Natchez is the oldest city on the Mississippi River. The first route into Natchez was the Natchez Trace, originally a buffalo trail and later used by Native Americans and early settlers. With the advent of steamboat travel in the early 19th century, the Trace fell into disuse. But now the trail is administered by the National Park Service, it runs 450 miles between Nashville and Natchez, a green and peaceful route dotted with interpretive exhibits, 18th-century inns, and picnic sites. Natchez is also home to dozens of African-American heritage sites, including historic churches, neighborhoods established by freedom after the Civil War, the boyhood home of internationally acclaimed author Richard Wright, and the Forks of the Road, site of the second-largest slave market in the South. While here explore downtown Natchez, which offers great shopping — antiques, unique gifts, and bookstores — plus an exceptional number of casual and fine dining restaurants and a cooking school. In Natchez, where Native American, African-American and European cultures have blended to make Natchez a unique place, we’re proud that progress is a neighbor of the past. We’re easy to find at the lower end of the Trace on the bluffs of the Mississippi River. To capture the full extent and feeling of Natchez, MS visit us soon for an unforgettable experience taking you back in history to experiencing today’s southern charm!  Check out our FALL PILGRIMAGE 2025, Starting September 25, 26, 27 and October 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, & 11 - Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, Morning, and Afternoon Rotations. The National Churchill Museum, was originally established in 1969 as the Winston Churchill Memorial and Library in the United States and renamed by act of Congress in 2009 as "America's National Churchill Museum". The museum and historic site is the nation's leading institution dedicated to remembering and honoring the life and enduring legacy of British Statesman Winston S. Churchill. The Museum, located on the campus of Westminster College, was created after a national campaign chaired by U.S. Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, Eisenhower and Truman to memorialize the speech Churchill gave at the school on March 5, 1946. The Museum includes the majestic 17th-century church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury created by British architect Sir Christopher Wren. Bombed and badly damaged in the Second World War, the building was relocated from London to Fulton, Missouri, in the 1960s to honor Churchill's speech at Westminster College. The Museum also includes the largest continuous section of the Berlin Wall in North America, which is now a sculpture by Edwina Sandys, granddaughter of Winston Churchill. At the museum we are honoring the 80th Anniversary of the March 5, 1946, Iron Curtain Speech!  "It is a solemn moment for the American Democracy. For with primacy in power is also joined an awe-inspiring accountability to the future" – Winston Churchill, "The Sinews of Peace" ('Iron Curtain' Speech). https://www.nationalchurchillmuseum.org/sinews-of-peace-iron-curtain-speech.html The presence of Winston Churchill and President Harry Truman turned a college gymnasium in a small Midwestern town into a world stage as Churchill delivered his most famous post- World War II address — "The Sinews of Peace." That Churchill and Truman would travel to Fulton, Missouri, is a story of a college president with the boldness to ask for the seemingly impossible; of a Westminster College alumnus with access to the President of the United States; of a President of the United States with the willingness to endorse the invitation; and of a recently defeated British Prime Minister with the shrewdness to recognize an opportunity. It is a story of coincidence and a moment boldly grasped — a combination Churchill capitalized on throughout his life. We encourage you to visit our museum at any time of the year! The National Churchill Museum in Fulton, MO is the most comprehensive remembrance in honor of perhaps the greatest leader not only from WWII, but perhaps in the 20th Century! Hours: Daily 10:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Closed: Thanksgiving Day - Christmas Dayand New Year's Day – 573-592-5369 https://www.nationalchurchillmuseum.org/
Cliffside Resort in the Wisconsin Dells started out as a vacation home for the Tylka family. Walter and Angeline, originally from Poland, then from Chicago, had a cottage built in the style of their homeland, employing Polish craftsmen to replicate the peaked gables, scalloped edging and interior wood carvings common to the mountain cabins of their southern Poland. In 1981, the Tylkas decided to share their little slice of paradise with visitors, building a resort into the sandstone cliff adjacent to their home. Thus the Cliffside Resort opened on July 4th, 1981.  Today, the original cottage still serves as the family home! Words like warm, welcoming, hard-working and meticulous show up often in guest reviews at the resort! Visitors from as close by as Chicago and as far away as Europe feel like extended family when they stay here. The main level of the family home has been converted to the office lobby which is where you’ll check in, and the lower level with large commercial-style kitchen is a popular gathering place for family reunions and groups of friends. And, yes, the Tylkas still live upstairs. The moment you pull up to Cliffside Resort you’ll know the most spectacular amenity of all is the scenic view to Lake Delton. The resort is perched on a sandstone cliff that hugs the shore of the lake, and much of the activity centers around the water. Heated indoor and outdoor pools overlooking the lake await you. There’s a 60-foot waterslide at the outdoor pool and the indoor pool area includes a slide, whirlpool, and sauna. Along with the view to the lake, be sure to look up from the indoor pool to see intricate wood carvings. We also provide lakeside picnic areas with grills and bonfire pits, perfect for favorite summertime meals, catching-up conversations and star gazing into the night. Jump into Lake Delton from the swim platform or swing along the water bathing in the sun shine or relax in hammock on our sandy beaches. We have piers for fishing and docking your boat. There is a boat launch just one minute down the road from the resort. Inquire about rentals from Lake Delton Watersports. They are our preferred provider for canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, pontoon boats, wave runners and ski boats. We provide a game room with pool table and games. A gathering room is available by reservation, with fully stocked commercial-style kitchen, ideal for family reunions and group meals. All the character and charm of a family-owned eastern European seaside resort, perched on a sandstone cliff above pristine Lake Delton in the Dells await you and your family! Please check us out online and make your next memorable vacation at the Cliffside Resort in the Wisconsin Dells!  https://www.cliffsideresort.com/
